Poster & Presentation Guidelines

Posters

Posters should be printed by the presenters themselves. Poster boards will be provided in A0 portrait format (841 x 1189 mm; 33.1 x 46.8 in). The poster boards will be made of tissue and presenters will be provided with adhesive to attach their posters by the organizers. Presenters should present their poster at the designated poster board (a number matching the poster board will be provided by the organizers). Please bear in mind that posters will be located next to each other and that you printing a poster in landscape format will mean that it will overlap and be a nuisance to your neighbor's poster. We kindly ask you to respect this.

We are trying to make the poster sessions as interesting as possible. Help us in making a great poster. Get a few tips from the APECS seminars: https://vimeo.com/17646765

Presentations

Presentations will be 12 minutes plus 3 minutes of discussion. Please do not overload your presentation with slides. We're trying to make the conference as interesting as possible for the participants. Be clear, succinct and do emphasize the originality of your presentation.

You will be asked to upload your presentation before hand in the speaker-ready room. Since we know that we all like to upload our presentations at the last minute, we'll set some deadline.

You can hold presentations in the following formats:

- Powerpoint

- PDF

We are not accepting Apple Keynote or Prezi presentations. It's not that we have an ideological problem with these formats, but we want to minimize technical issues and stick to the most standard formats. We therefore kindly ask you to understand that this is not a conspiracy, but that we want to make things as smooth as possible. If you are using Prezi or a Mac, just convert your presentation to powerpoint or pdf beforehand and test it on a PC. You will not be able to connect your mac to the projectors, so do not hope to rely on it.
